how-to-outsource-on-fiverr

Creating a successful website is only half of the equation.  Updating and maintaining your site is just as important for your online success.  But website tasks can be very time consuming and tedious.  How can you save time yet still accomplish your website goals?  Using outsourcing has become an increasingly popular and effective way to free up more of your time and still get your online work done.

What You Should NOT Outsource

Before we continue, let’s briefly go over what you really should not outsource.  Never give control of your website to outsiders.  That is, when something needs to get posted on your site, I recommend doing it yourself—or someone in your own company.

Taking things a step further, you really should create your content yourself.  That doesn’t mean you can’t get some assistance in certain areas—we’ll examine that further in a bit.  For now, keep in mind that you know best what your audience and your customers want in terms of information and assistance.  Instead of having to edit and rework someone else’s content that you’ve outsourced, you’ll save time in the long run by creating it yourself.

Choosing Fiverr

There are many places online where you can find outsourcing services.  However, for those of you outsourcing for the first time, one of the easiest places to find help is Fiverr.  Fiverr started off as a place where you could find help for many types of work for only $5.  You can still find a lot of $5 gigs on Fiverr today, but they have also greatly expanded—where now you can order more in-depth and premium services at higher costs.

10 Top Fiverr Gigs for Website Owners

So what exactly can you use Fiverr for?  There are tons of different services (or gigs as they’re referred to on Fiverr) available.  But here are 10 top gigs, most of which I’ve personally used and had success with on Fiverr.

1. Social Media Marketing

Social Media is by far one of the biggest areas of opportunity (for both buyers and sellers) on Fiverr.  Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, or any of the other popular social outlets, you can find some helpful gigs on Fiverr.  Now again, I’m not suggesting you turn over your social media accounts to anybody on Fiverr.  But when it comes to promoting your social media content, you can definitely find some good gigs.

2. Email Marketing

Email marketing is still one of the most effective ways to reach targeted customers for your business.  On Fiverr, you can find all kinds of help for your email campaigns.  Whether it’s email newsletter templates, email promotion, or campaign development, you can get assistance here.

3. Logo Design

Logo design has to be one of the top niches for Fiverr gigs.  If you need a great looking logo for your website, you can find all kinds of logo and art design gigs.  I’ve used Fiverr for website logos a number of times and have always been satisfied with the results.

4. Infographics

Infographics are a great for promoting your website and to drive traffic to your site.  They’re also very time-consuming to create.  This is another area where I’ve personally used Fiverr to have some awesome infographics created for my websites.

5. Proof Reading and Editing

If you write a ton of articles and blog posts for your website, proof reading and editing your work can be very tiresome.  On Fiverr, you can find many proof reading and editing services to use, so you can focus more on creating your awesome content, while having someone else do the grunt work.

6. Research

Whenever possible, I always recommend you create your own website content including your blog posts and articles.  However, when you’re creating an in-depth article or white paper type of publication where you need to do a lot of research online, you can often find gigs you can use to save you a bunch of time.  For example, if you need to visit many websites to collect certain data for your own article, this would be a good situation to utilize Fiverr.

7. Press Releases

Press releases can be a great way to publicize your website.  And they’re especially effective for local businesses.  However, just about any type of website can benefit from press releases.  Again, this is another area where Fiverr can be a great resource to find great deals.  You don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to have your press release sent out.

8. Videos, Intros and Post Production

Videos are one of the best ways of promoting your website.  While you can have Fiverr sellers actually appear on camera and make videos for you, it’s definitely better if you actually shoot your own videos.  However, as you soon become aware, there is a lot more to producing a quality video than just turning a camera on.

Two video areas that offer good outsourcing opportunities on Fiverr are video intros and post production.  There are a bunch of gigs providing professional and animated introductions to your videos.  Likewise, post production editing is another time consuming function that you can easily outsource on Fiverr.

9. Audio Transcribing

Here’s a great service you can find on Fiverr if you use interviews or podcasting to promote your website.  You can have your recorded audio interviews transcribed so you can easily include them in a blog post or article.  For podcasters, you can repurpose your content by having your audio interview transcribed for printed use.  Audio transcribing can save you a bunch of time and there are some really reasonably priced gigs on Fiverr.

10. Podcast Voiceover Narration

Here’s another area on Fiverr that podcasters can utilize.  If you’d rather have a different voice on your show, you can provide your script to one of the many people offering voiceover narration services and have them send you the recording.  Even if you host your own podcast, there may be times when you want a second voice for a special report or feature.

Tips on Using Fiverr

While Fiverr can be a big help in getting things done for your website, you do have to be careful when selecting and ordering your Fiverr gigs.  Remember that a cheaper price isn’t necessarily the best choice.  Likewise, it isn’t always wise to choose a premium option if that’s not what you really need.

It’s really important when you’re shopping for workers and services on Fiverr that you take a close look at their track records.  First of all, if possible, always look for an experienced seller that has already sold a number of gigs.  I always try to avoid new, unproven sellers with no track record—no reason to take a chance.  Also, you want to choose a seller that has a feedback rating of 5.0 or close to that since Fiverr sellers are rated on a star scale with 5 being the best.

You can easily find this information when you are browsing for gigs.  Look for the seller’s star rating and number of gigs sold under the description of their service.

One of the things I like about Fiverr is that it’s very easy to check out the feedback a seller has received from other buyers.  When you view an individual Fiverr listing, you can scroll down to the Review section to see ratings and comments left by other buyers.  You can view the most recent reviews, or filter to see only the positive or negative ones.

One note to keep in mind, when you have someone that has sold a bunch of gigs (in the hundreds or thousands), you’ll eventually have someone that has left some negative feedback—so don’t expect a perfect track record from everybody.  However, what you should consider is the ratio of positive reviews to the negative ones.  As long as their overall rating is close to 5.0, you should be okay.

However, if you do have an issue with a seller on Fiverr, you’ll be happy to know that their customer resolution process is very effective.  On the rare occasions when I’ve had an issue with someone, I was able to receive my money back with no hassles.

Fiverr Pro

And, you can actually take things a notch higher as Fiverr is now offering their Fiverr Pro services.  Fiverr Pro is aimed at those customers looking for more in-depth premium services.  The sellers are hand vetted by Fiverr to include only the best talent.  On the flip side, the fees are significantly higher than the standard Fiverr rates.  So, it’s up to you to decide if you should opt for Fiverr Pro or stick with the regular Fiverr services.  You can find out more about Fiverr Pro here.

Signing Up for Fiverr

It’s very easy to join Fiverr and start shopping for outsourcing help.  You can sign up using your Facebook or Google IDs or by using your email and creating a password.  You can pay for your Fiverr gigs with a credit or debit card, PayPal, or Apple Pay.

So remember, when it comes to working on tasks for your website, you don’t have to always use up your own time.  Outsourcing work with an outlet like Fiverr can save you hours of time at a very low cost.  For more details, visit the Fiverr website.
